If your recovery needs longer than that, you will need an order from your doctor to continue. Comfortable clothing you can move in, and something that gives access to the area being treated — shorts for knee or hip problems, a tank top or loose sleeves for shoulder and neck issues. Bring supportive shoes.

Your first visit is a full evaluation: history, strength and mobility testing, and functional screening, followed by an explanation of what we found and the start of treatment. You leave with a home program and a clear plan. Plan on about an hour.

Most plans of care run 6 to 12 visits over 4 to 8 weeks. Acute problems often resolve faster; post-surgical rehab and long-standing pain usually run longer. You get an estimated range after your evaluation, and objective retesting confirms whether you are tracking to it.

You work with a small, consistent care team. Dr. Sean Chen, PT, DPT, sets your plan of care, and our physical therapist assistants carry it out under that plan — so nothing gets re-explained and progressions build on each other. Caseloads stay small, with no more than two patients per clinician at a time.

Treatment should be challenging, not painful. Some soreness after hands-on work or new loading is normal and settles within a day. Sharp or worsening pain is information we want, and it changes the plan.
